Just have a search using key words or sentences for patents on google for US patent , etc. Any process/claims , which significantly improves and have advantages in comparison to the existing patents, is worth patentable invention.
One can choose to patent an idea only if two key "must have" requirements can be satisfied:
1 - reduction to concept
2 - reduction to practice
In simple words, the 1st item is the original idea - a new concept, paradigm, discovery in engineering or life sciences. The 2nd item - is a detailed description of a particular way(s) of a practical implementation of this idea. The lack of any of these two make the application a non-patentable case.
