Dear Colleagues,
I'm intended to conduct a cross-sectional study where I'm planning to utilize a survey that was developed by another research, the permission to use has been granted. however, I realized that the psychometric measures were not done by the author. shall it proceed with my project aiming to establish the psychometric measure as a secondary objective or not to proceed?
note: this is the only tool matching my research purpose.

If you already have the permission of the authors, you can adapt the instrument as per your needs. Establishing reliability and validity is necessary and important. I would suggest you assess the reliability and validity before using the instrument for your study.
You can perform factor analysis to evidence the psychometric properties by considering an expert judgment to first evaluate the content validity of the instrument.
Really it so interesting topic; I have a question regarding your project aims, the measure in psychometric tool may use to evaluate many dimensions, what exactly purpose you want to study ?? is it for boredom experience and perception, eating disorder, demand for skills, overview of patient care perceptions, judgmental related topics.. etc.
