I have a common doubt after going through the literature on phthalocyanines and naphthalocyanines. Most of the time, the final molecule is characterized by 1H NMR only. I could see very few articles where 13C NMR is reported. Also, there are very few articles where the NMR is shown in the supplementary. So is it common that the 13C NMR of these compounds is difficult to obtain due to the aggregation behavior?

The low solubility of the compounds is the main reason, in addition to a large amount of compound is required to obtain a good C13 spectrum. also, the presence of the quaternary carbons attached to the N is particularly painful.
These compounds typically have low solubility making harder to get a 13C spectrum. Furthermore the proton to carbon/nitrogen ratio is low. With so many quaternary carbons and some of them attached to nitrogen the detection of these signals will be even more difficult due to long relaxation times and broadening of the signals by N-14.
Since these compounds are very less soluble and large amount or quality required during 13C, get settled down in the NMR tube, unable to provide 13 C NMR spectrum.
