I know Matt Sherwood from Wright State University conducted neurofeedback research using fMRI a couple years ago. i believe it is publishe, but I’m not certain in which journal.

There is a case study of Zich, Debener, Schweinitz, Sterr, Meekes, Kranczioch from 2017 where changes in white matter integrity are found after motor recovery training in a stroke patient.

Also, in the articles of E.J Davelaar, 2017 and Sitaram et al., 2017 you may find additional literature.
