Do any of the researchers here especially from Malaysia that currently use or at least know the availability of Netzsch Laser Flash Thermal Analyser (LFA 447) at public university or private research facilities?
I am looking forward to check samples thermal conductivity (k value) or at least thermal diffusivity and heat capacity of the samples. Your information is much appreciates.

You may check UPM they have one, but I'm not sure is it the same type as you request or not, you may contact person in charge there.

Hi Zakuan,
Flash method can give you only thermal diffusivity values. I recommend you to contact TA Instruments' local representatives (www.tainstruments.com). They probably should have one of our FOX50 heat flow meter instruments designed both for accurate thermal conductivity and specific heat tests. Recommended size of the samples is ~50 (max.62) mm diameter disks, of 5-15 mm thick.

Netzsch offers LFA 467 system in meantime. This flash system allows measuring of thermal diffusivity and specific heat capacity and calculation of thermal conductivity using known density. Please contact Netzsch team (website). There are several reference labs in Malaysia and other countries.
