I want to check Organo-chlorine (OCP) & organo-phosphate pesticides (OPP) presence in soil samples and I have one GC equipped with both ECD & NPD detector in my lab. I am little confused regarding the selection of GC column that can separate both OCP and OPP in a single run. Should I go for OCP specific (Restek Rtx- CLP Cap, 11123) or OPP specific column (Restek Rtx-OPP Cap, 11223) or any general column like (Restek Rtx-5, 10223). Kindly suggest.

Nowadays, most of the companies such as Thermo, Agilent or Waters etc are providing technical support for their product to the customers. You just need to drop one email, they will get back to you with their product details as well as technical support. You can choose once you satisfied with the provided information and the price.
Why don't you give a column you already have a try? All three columns may or may not suffice for a joint analysis. However, sensitivity is not the issue, and you have selective specificity with your two detectors. The worst that can happen is that you cannot separate some substances of your standard mixtures, and then you can still decide how important these substances would be for your samples.
