The method is soaking mucilage for 24 hours. Boiling for 1 hour and letting it stand for 2 hours for release of mucilage into water. Filter through muslin cloth and treat filtrate with equal amount of ethanol. Let it stand. Filter then spread the filtrate in glass plates. The problem is, after putting the glass plates in the oven at less than 50 degrees Celsius, mucilage is still very sticky. I reheat the plate but nothing happens. I need the powder form for tablet formulation. What can you suggest?

you can mix the mucilage with about 3-5% of water and avicel, lactose and/or starch to make a bulk paste. then extrude the mixture and spheronize using an extruder-spheronization device to prepare "pellets". you can press the solid pellets to tablet.
