absorbance of cell 0.446
absorbance of treated cell 0.52
i am using formula 100-(ab treated / ab of cells) x100
First, is this difference in absorbance statistically significant and reproducible?
If so, then you may be able to conclude that the treatment enhanced cell growth or survival.
MTT can be influenced by cell growth but also by mitochondrial metabolism. If the cells had a increased metabolism it is not rare found an increase in the reduction of MTT salt.
Adding to Benjamin's comment above: if your treatment is stressing the cell you are also likely to see an increase in metabolims as a response.
Thanks all for your valuable comments
