what kind of micro arrays (dna, rna,tissue...)? As a rule of thumb ... no, But you can use it to teach students about microarrays, or for a "dry" run, just to make sure you have all the resources you need: protocol / samples / timing / bench / software and what not. Then you may be lucky and there maybe some interesting results... but I would suggest that you validate those results with a second array
2013 may already be a long time ago. I think the expiry marks the guarantee of accurate results. If it would have been just a few months past due, then perhaps the results can still be good but I guess the 3 years difference... It's quite a risk should you use it for critical experiments.
the last year I processed affymetrix gene chip 1.0 expired in 2012, the results are not accurate, the probe set signal is poor and heterogeneous in all array.
Check the components of your kit, there are some more susceptible to decay. Try changing the enzymes, it is still a cost-benefit measure. I think (and I`ve heard of, but not tried myself) it should work.
