Thinking about a classroom, its teaching, its students and its evaluation, I have problems to characterize the possible inputs, to generate the products or outputs that the method raises. Although I am aware that it depends on the research problem, I do not quite understand how to consider it, without falling into reductions in the model to be used.
Magnus, I'm working on a DEA analysis for Higher Education for doctoral thesis. I have identified the inputs which are the results of an ad-hoc questionnaire that has been answered by the teachers of my institution, and I used as outputs the evaluation results from each teacher(students´evaluation, pair evaluation and deans evaluation). I would like to know what do you think about the characterization of teachers profiles with this methodology. Thanks
In your research problem, what do you generate as Outputs by consuming what could be considered as Inputs? Basically, in input-oriented DEA model, Inputs are proportionally decremented and Outputs are proportionally incremented, to achieve efficiency. Then, Inputs (Outputs) could be partitioned into "desirable" and "undesirable" Inputs (Outputs). So, in your DEA setting, what could be treated as Inputs and Outputs? Which DEA model do you want to use, Input-Oriented or Output-Oriented, based on your objective?

Thanks for your interest P.S. DharmaPala. According to José María & I, we are working with CCR model (DEA). We are conscious about the input/output variables, which in our case, due to the fact, that is a characterization of professional competence model, we have identify the entry variables (inputs) with the means of the data we have collected from and ad-hoc questionnaire. And in the case of the exit variables (outputs) we have used the teachers evaluation within their evaluations (students, pairs and deans) with that information we have been able to use Frontier Analysis software and we got 4 groups of individuals characterized by the types of competences the reflect. I would like to know if you have any consideration or feedback, we are closing the thesis in one week. Do you have any knowledge about graphics that can model CCR?
