Since data collection is crucial to the result, we should summarize efficient ways and be aware of special tips, such as different area (moutain, power lines, railway, water area, gobi desert) , season, weather, different targets and scales (e.g., MT site space of 10~20 km, or 100~200 m). I understand that each application will require a different approach to the MT survey. I´m used to specifying electrical and electromagnetic geophysical surveys for the design of electrical grounding systems. Depending on the type of the grounding (HVDB ground electrodes or a windfarm, for instance) the specification will differ.
