M1 macrophages are cytotoxic & proinflammatory whereas M2 macrophages, suppress immune and inflammatory responses & participate in wound repair and angiogenesis. I am planning to check M1/M2 ratio in vivo after CNS trauma. Could CD163,CD206, Arginase,IL-10 (for M2) & iNOS, IL-1,TNF-alpha (for M1) be utilised in vivo? Can I extrapolate the data obtained from these markers to tell the M1 and M2 paradigm in vivo?  What is the most efficient way to get the clear picture about M1/M2 in vivo? Please share your views.

Thank You in advance,
