It's been more than a year since I have submitted a manuscript in a reputed journal, I have asked a few times but got the same reply that 'review's reports are awaited'. Could anyone suggest to me what should I can do in such a case, or awaiting is the only option?

Well, if its a reputed journal, it is worth the wait. Usually, a reputed journal takes about 2 years to bring out publications. In the current scenario, this might increase. You can withdraw your manuscript as you haven't signed anything so far (I assume). However, putting your manuscript in any other reputed journal might result in similar delay and in that case, your publication would be postponed by another year. I understand it is frustrating but being polite and providing monthly reminder to the journal is the hard path to tread on.

When I submitted my last article to a primary journal, in october 2020, they assured me a response within three to four months. After six months, and a reminder from me, they informed me that one of the two reviewers had not given his report, and that they would submit to a third reviewer who would reply 'within a few weeks'. I'm still waiting. Eight months. Never happened before.

It depends upon the reputed journal to which you have submitted your manuscript. My suggestion is that if need that your paper must be published in the same journal which you have submitted, then there is no other go, you must wait or else better try another one.
Some Q1 journals make take more time for getting reviewer reports.
I think you should wait. Happened with some of my acquaintances too.
