I am currently doing a project on lovastatin and simvastatin to compare their hydrolysis rates with one another to see which statin is the best using porcine liver esterase.
The biproduct of lovastatin hydrolysis is monacolin J and I have been told that simvastatin can still produce monacolin J which I am a bit sceptical on, since simvastatin is more stable. I have vigorously tried to look for such information on the internet for journal articles based on the conversion of simvastatin to monacolin J but have not been successful.
Any information given will greatly be appreciated
