Hello,
MODIS C051 aerosol product does not provide SSA directly, but gives the specific aerosol model for both fine and coarse modes, which are denoted by aer_F and aer_C respectively. The 550 nm SSAs of the four fine aerosol models are 0.9683, 0.9772, 0.9864, and 0.9865 (SSA_F), along with the SSAs of five coarse aerosol models being 0.9358, 0.9026, 0.8770, 0.9674, and 0.9530 (SSA_C). In addition, MODIS C051 aerosol product provides the optical depth ratio of small aerosol model (denoted by R_F).
I would like to derive Single Scattering Albedo (SSA) over ocean from the MODIS C051 aerosol product by the Equation below:
SSA = SSA_F(aer_F)*R_F + SSA_C(aer_C)*(1 – R_F)
Is this equation right? Could someone give me some advice?
Your reply would be highly appreciated!
