I am interested in looking at the morphology of the mitochondria in some cells (could be live or fixed). I am not concerned with mitochondrial activity. Is there a simple non-fluorescent stain I could use to help locate and image the mitochondria? I do not have fluorescent microscopy capabilities and I do not have a confocal microscope. This needs to be colorimetric and visible with a simple inverted microscope.
