This is another passage from my book titled "Everything that happens in the "head" of cells and microorganisms. Do cells and microorganisms have a “brain”?”on "microbial intelligence" retrieved and translated from the chapter "COVID-19: its “innovation” strategy, its adaptive “intelligence” and its “survival”.
"SRASCoV-2, when it finds itself in a position of vulnerability in the face of a human immune system which develops in response to the viral infection, it retreats, infects less and then it proceeds to changes in its strong point which became weak point, the point which allowed the human immune system to detect it and set an “ambush” to it, that is to say, the Spike protein".
"Isn't this an effective strategy that should inspire managers and managers of companies that can find themselves, overnight, in situations that threaten their existence and survival"?

In the immunological context, " Everything happens in the "head"" means, does not brain or head as we speak ... its about the proteins or glycolipids expressed on the surface of the organims. as we know that the interaction between the host cells and pathogen occurs via such protein (/Receptors).
Further, the adaptation and survival, its not intelligence oriented. its evolutionary process, survival via existence in the form of quasispecies. Suitable candidates pushed or replicated further due to either low or complete absence of counter measure from the host. The host=pathogen interaction, followed by evolution of a mutant type from a wild type is completely follows the survival of fittest theory. But, higher organism has intelligence, it can be able to learn from others, predicts the possible consequence before happening. For instance, an A bacteria or Virus cannot learn from B, even though B is originated from A. However, we a Person X can learn many things from many person, which eventually devleops as intelligence.
Sometimes, researchers and scientist consider this as an inspiration too... I do give/get some advice or discussed with friends / colleagues from the same field.. Even we make jokes too... scientific / technical person can understand that.

Indeed, this is why I always put “head”, “brain” and “intelligence” in quotation marks.
However, for everything that is learning, there is this possibility, I put this in a chapter of my book, this is the case of the blob (Physarum polycephalum) which is capable of learning, memorizing and training others, the chapter of my book is: The blob: from the student to the teacher, a unicellular organism, capable of “forming”, “memorizing” and “teaching”.
