I am trying to decide between different methods to compare vascular leak in the retina between different rodent groups. I have found a number of different methods, inlcuding immunofluoresence for albumin, FITC-dextran methods (with lysis of the retina followed by meaurement of the FITC-dextra in the supernatant), immunofluoresence for FITC-BSA, etc. Can anyone comment on the pro's/ con's of these different approaches? Any recommendations? Or does it just matter what size molecule you want to measure the leakage? Thanks.
