I am looking for answers from especially people who have done their PhDs. I am looking for answers on how best to approach the methodology chapter of a PhD dissertation.
Methodology of a thesis can be written similar to the Materials and Methods section of a research paper. Only difference is that you have to give all the details of what you have done and how you have done with appropriate references at the end of the chapter or end of thesis.
Avoid unnecessary text in the introduction part of this section. Just a para about how you intend to do your studies and then follow with the sub-sections straightaway. Go ahead and finish it. Good Luck
Generally speaking, the primary purpose of methodology chapter in a thesis is to provide the targeted readers with information on various aspects of the work such as research design, participants, instrumentation, and data analysis processing.
