I am synthesizing mesoporous silica nanoparticles and the procedure I performed in order to prepare mesoporous silica nanoparticles is as follows. 96.75 mL of double distilled water was taken in a conical flask, to it 0.1g of CTAB, 2M 0.7mL of NaOH added and stirred (610rpm, Magnetic stirrer) it continuously at room temperature till complete stabilization of CTAB. After complete stabilization of CTAB 48.8 mM1.4 mL of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) which is a swelling agent was added followed by 0,051 mM 4.8 uL APTES which is a silane linker and 48.8 mM 1 mL tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) under continuous stirring at 610 rpm.

Problem is 1. As soon as I add TMB the whole solution becomes precipitate which should occur 3 minutes after I add TEOS !

2. Is my procedure is correct?
