I am facing a problem while signing in to mendeley. The details are: Check your connections settings, if the problem persists , please contact support.
Unfortunately that does not work and I have just found out that there is a bug in the program - the following from Mendeley's help page:
"Why can’t I sign in to Mendeley Cite on Microsoft Word Desktop after receiving the notification 'We found multiple accounts using the email address'?
Users with multiple accounts associated with their email address (such as an institutional email address) won't be able to sign in to Mendeley Cite on Microsoft Word Desktop. When attempting to sign in to Mendeley Cite, you will be prompted with a message saying that you will receive an email to select the account which you wish to sign in with. The magic link that you receive via this email will only work if you sign in via your web browser, and therefore does not work within the Microsoft Word Desktop add-in. We are currently working on addressing this problem.
To resolve this issue please contact us using one of the options below, and we’ll provide a solution for you."
Vanja Lozic hello. Look for an answer, got a situation that the Mendeley desktop manager is still white while I signed in to Mendeley account by click on the link from email sent by Mendeley.
I contacted Mendeley helpdesk both by email and through online chat. They advised me to delete one of the accounts, which I did, and then informed them through the email address that was used to set the account. They then deleted that account, and voila! I nolonger have issues.
Since I wrote that opinion. Mendelay has shown a lot of improvement. Presently I am writing three papers with the help of Mendeley. There is room for improvement, as the desktop has not been replaced by its reference manager. Still i find Mendeley far user friendly it's other competitors.
Mendeley Desktop is a reliable reference manager. However, I have serious concerns that Elsevier kills it, like Mendeley Mobile, to force users to use the new product which does not seem robust and user friendly.
If you are using proxy: I've solved by turning off the proxy connection before opening the app. As the app is opened, the proxy connection can be turned on again.
