How to Measure Voltage, Current, and Power - National ...
I guess that you have a current flowing through something, from a source.
So, with one channel, measure the voltage provided to the load.
And with another channel, measure the voltage developed across a tiny (but well-known and stable) resistor.
If you know the value of that small-but-stable resistor, you can calculate the current flowing through it. At the same time, you know the voltage across the load.
Choose the tiny resistor so that it doesn't significantly alter the voltage presented to the mystery load.
