Hello, I have been using Matpower for several distribution studies, considering balanced loading conditions. Consequently, a single-phase simulation can be done. However, I am now working towards more practical multi-phase distribution systems which may have some single-phase segments and unbalanced loading such as some of the IEEE test systems (i.e. 34-bus, 123-bus,...). I assume in the standard Matpower toolbox this is not possible to simulate. Is this correct? Are there any extensions to Matpower to run multi-phase simulations? Thanks for your help.

You mean dynamic simulation? I thought matpower is only for steady state studies. Have they introduced dynamic casefiles as well?
MATPOWER, as far as I know, has not included unbalanced systems yet. However, you can try checking similar publications that develop tools for that:

You may build three single-phase distribution networks using MATPOWER, in which each phase has different loading. However, the internal physics between three phases may not be captured.
