In the coronary artery ligation-induced myocardial infarction model in rats, which marker should be used to assess angiogenesis in left ventricle tissue?
Should I go for CD31 using IHC technique and VEGF using Western blot?
Hi Mihir, I would like to learn more about your model. Which cells are expressing CD31, VEGFR. Are they resident stromal cells, infiltrating monocytes, resident adipocytes or pericardiocytes?
Hi Steingrimur, we will be ligating left anterior descending coronary artery in rats to induced infarction. I have read in the literature that CD31 is an endothelial cell marker. VEGFR are found in myofibroblasts and non-endothelial cells.
Hi Mihir, cd31and VEGRF are definitely endo markers but are also on platelets. Quick question again are there more platelets markers around heart damage then other organs?
