Dear all,

I am currently analysing a dataset of roughly 4000 genes among 3 sample groups (5 samples each). Since I would like to compare all groups with another, I performed a MANOVA with subsequent ANOVA for the dependent variabels (the proteins) and Tukey's test as post-hoc.

So, here is my question: Since I do approx. 4000 univariate ANOVAs after the MANOVA, I assume that a correction for multiple testing should be applied. A simple way would be the Bonferroni method, but I have read that it might be too harsh and strict (although I couldn't find any information in the context of MANOVA follow up testing). Am I correct with my assumption and if so, which correction method would be well suited for this type of analysis?

Thank you in advance and all the best,

Thorben
