I am a data scientist having interest in psychology. I want a long-term research domain where I can apply machine learning techniques in the area of my interest.
I have considered using biomarkers for early disease detection and progression in dementia and Alzheimer's disease but the access to dataset was a problem.

look at causal effect/treatment effect estimation (for a particular intervention or medicine) and clustering of the population based on that, since that's a useful problem to tackle in psychology and healthcare in general
