Sample is steel strip, thickness 1,6 mm. In non alloy steel with low carbon content possibility of appear martensite transformation during quenching from two phase region.
It could be twinning. But not martensite. Check it .

Using a two-dimensional model of crystal, we show that the crystal lattice can be in a stable or an unstable equilibrium, depending on the temperature. During crystallization, a stable crystal lattice is formed. As the temperature decreases, the crystal lattice passes to a state of unstable equilibrium. We conclude that a low-temperature plastic deformation similar to polymorphic transformations is caused by the loss of stability. Though the twinning and the martensitic transformation are based on the same processes of displacement of atoms in a crystal, the causes of destabilization of the crystal lattice in these cases are different.

The occurrence of the phenomenon of low carbon martensite is often observed in sheet materials after a sufficiently large deformation. When viewed with small magnifiers, they emerge as martensitic needles. In case of incremental increases it is established that these are grouped slides and dislocation planes.
