John, I have recently moved to Portugal: beautiful scenery, lovely towns and cities (clean, not much crime, if any where I am), wonderful people-but terrible, absolutely terrible, transport system. Effectively that of one of the very poor countries.
I cannot speak the language, but mime well. Diving into different cultures is ultimately beneficial.
To Stanley, I've been to Portugal three times, twice with family to Faro and Lisbon and again myself to Albufeira. Lovely culture and people. It still reminds me of how under-developed spain used to be, and still retains a interesting way of life. I have had friends recommend Coimbra to live and Porto to commute but as you say the transport can be an issue. Thanks again.
To Syed Ismyl Mahmood Rizvi,
India is another country and culture that has long fascinated me with such diversity and history. after researching and asking friends who live there. I was thinking more towards a tour of East Coast - Kolkata to Madurai via Chennai? Regards
