Hi folks, I have the following situation in an upcoming project:

a) the dependent variable (DV) is measured daily for 6 months--hence, I will have 180 waves of data

b) the independent variable (IV), however, is measured only once per month on a semi-trait level (aka "How is it going these days?")--hence, I have only 6 waves of measurement.

I want to analyse the effect of the levels or changes of the IVs across the 6 months within persons on dynamic changes of the daily data, e.g., if increases in stressful phases (IV) lead to following uprising trends in the DVs across the days in the following month.

The overall set up is a multilevel design within a kind of generalized linear mixed effects model but I am absolutely confused how the data would be set up and which approach will works. If it is in R that would nice.
