Just a question i didn't have idea about and wanted to know as if we can generate electricity from cold waves then we can set power stations in polar regions.
Generating electricity by thermal power plant(engine)??or Generating energy from tides??
Well if it is thermal plant mechanism then must be possible only if we have a large nominal temperature reservoir(25,30 degree Celsius) so that heat transfer should be possible from high temperature reservoir .As According to 2 statements of 2nd law of Thermodynamics(Kelvin planks and Clausius Statement)
However in Your case it seem entirely difficult because creating some High temperature reservoir (say 20 to 30 Celsius) for considerable efficiency is very difficult task in Polar Regions...And Consume Huge amount of fuel.
I know that is why is there any method invented until now to generate electricity from cold waves in polar weather
