This is a new research area for me. My existing knowledge on hydrogen has predominately been biologically based and I'm interested in expanding into biomass and bio-fuel areas of hydrogen production. I am more of a social scientist than an engineer so LCA's are more beneficial to my research than the detailed engineering scopes. However, I would love to know more about the processes and outcomes of techniques involved in this field.
My research so far has led me down the gasification and fermentation routes; is there anyone who can exspand on these areas or additional fields to look into?
Best way to obtain H2 is photolysis of water . As you are interested H2 from biomass like humic substances , here you search references on microbial decomposition of humic substances .
Gasification of biomass in the presence of steam is another method of generating H2 from biomass. You should be able to find sufficient amount of literature on this
