How many of you, at this moment, are involved in a project regarding legumes cover crop/Intercropping? I looking for an international collaboration within the EU on this topic.
Presently am working on weed dynamics in legume inter and cover cropping system. Mainly on diversity and dynamics of weeds associated with legume based inter / cover cropping systems.
I will be happy to cooperate with you for this topic because i have a proposal for management phytonematodes using crop /intercrooping including legumes crop within
I have 10-years long experiments with cover crops mixtures (including legumes) and different farming systems including field pea, clover, cash crops and cover crops in rotation.
Many thanks to all of you for your answers and your interest.
At this moment I plan my future research activities and I'm looking for a research group that want to collaborate in order to develop a research plan on legumes in crop rotation/cover crop. I have to spend a period as guest researcher in a foreign university/research institution. Therefore I am looking for a research group in order to share in field experiment and laboratory analysis on this topic. For logistical reasons, within Europe.
If anyone is willing to share research activities, please send me a private message.
We are involved in different national and EU projects involving legumes as key levers for cropping systems diversification. We study, among other, the impact of double cropping systems including legumes on GHG emissions, agronomic aspects and product quality to diversify the traditional maize-based sprinkler irrigated Mediterranean cropping systems. We also study the viability of diversifying these systems with the inclusion of soybean as single or double cropping systems. In rainfed areas we have experience on winter pea and are now establishing field experiments to test faba bean performance. If you need more information do not hesitate to contact me.
Our research team is working on 35-y old experiment in Southern Brazil where we evaluate different intensities of legume insertion in cropping systems. The environmental conditions favours double-cropping cultivation (winter and summer), and we are assessing the impact of legume insertion in the winter (as cover crops) and/or intercropped with maize during the summer on physical and chemical (especially on soil organic matter accumulation) soil attributes. In addition, the response of legumes to these factors also takes account the interaction with tillage systems (conventional tillage and no-tillage) and N fertilization rates. In case of interest, don't hesitate to contact me.
We are working on Maize and Soybean intercropping system. Our research team has done a wide range of research to suggest the appropriate planting geometry that ensures high yield and LER as high as 2.36, nutrient acquisition and mechanical operations in Maize and Soybean intercropping system. A new maize–soybean relay strip intercropping system has been developed and popularized in the southwestern China. Feng Yang @Wenyu Yang Muhammad Ali Raza Sajad Hussain Jiang Liu Lingyang Feng
My thesis about modelling alfalfa potential production and yield gap in Iran under current and future climates. At the moment, I'm working on climate change in the present and future in Iran by using weather software (DSSAT (WeatherMan), AgMIP). on the other hand, I using the modelling software (SSM_iCrop2) to calculate the yield gap.
