I will be analyzing various (~25) pesticides in precipitation, extracting with SPE and analyzing with GCMS. Will I need a separate labeled internal/surrogate standard for each compound, or would perhaps one for each class of pesticide suffice? (Worrying about the cost)
Have a look at the recently validated US EPA Method 8270e and Method 3535a for SPE. The methods cover a very wide range of analytes including pesticides with suitable internal standards and surrogates. The standards are easily commercially available.
