I want to examine the agreement between 10 raters (observers) on the assignment of categories of a categorical variable.
I'm looking for an SAS program, (language) or with SPSS.
I know that I can calculate the kappa coefficient by PROC FREQ of SAS, but I need the statement or the test to do it.
Also if someone could explain how I can calculate this coefficient with SPSS?
Hello Naceur, I have done this in SPSS, but it was a decade ago and I don't have access to the program currently and my memory is not as good now as it was !!!!
If you look at the diabetes publication that I had in the MJA which you can download for free from research gate, you'll see the results of diabetes diagnosis [concordant and discordant categories] and it is referred to as the k statistic. I hope this is of help to you and good luck with your work. I used a book called SPSS analysis without anguish when I studied but I'm not sure if I still have it here - I may have loaned this to someone. Cheers, Deborah

The measure you need for me is not kappa, but the intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC).
