Hello, journal authors and reviewers. I am interested in publishing my article in a reputable journal. The journal’s website indicates that it is indexed in SCOPUS. However, when I checked the SCImago and official SCOPUS websites, I could not find the journal listed.
When I downloaded the SCOPUS Source List, I saw that the journal is included under “Accepted Titles as of May 2025.” This is my first time encountering such a case. Does this mean the journal is currently awaiting indexing? Thank you for answering.
Dear Analyn Inarda Yes you are right the journal is awaiting indexing. What is the journal you talk about?
The thing is that it very much depends on the publisher behind it. In some cases like journal titles from Springer, Elsevier, MDPI etc. they tent to be indexed relatively soon while other journal titles take a long time to be officially indexed (and sometimes somehow do not pass the final checks and are never indexed).

- Verify independently on Scopus — many predatory journals falsely claim indexing.
- Some journals may have been indexed in the past but later removed due to quality concerns. Always check the coverage years.
