What do you think about journal requirements for authors to format manuscripts before submission? Are they simple, complicated, do you approve them? Please tell if you are an author, editor, peer-reviewer and does your opinion differ in different roles?

As an author, I think that the format is also important. Every month, Journal receives a lot of manuscripts and the editorial board does not have time to edit the format of such many manuscripts, the author must format them according to form of Journal. The manuscript format also facilitates the review process. However, I think Journal should have a template for the author to easily follow.
Being an author and a chief editor, I prefer simple stile, double -spaced text and consistency in references. And would be happy if more journals would accept such submissions. We should focus on quality and not torture our authors and at the end, if the article is acceoted they have to format the mansucript according to the guidelines of the journal.
