I have recognized few crucial theoretical and methodological limitations in the altruism/self-interest model (Lucas & Stark, 1985; Taylor, 1999) in studying the determinants of migrant’s remittances. While this model emphasizes the migrant’s altruism in determining his/her remittances, I demonstrate that it, in fact, fails to capture true altruism. What this model recognizes as altruism is practically a variant of self-interest. In response, I propose an alternative sociological model to understand the determinants of migrant’s remittances.

I’m wondering if somebody can suggest me a journal that may consider publishing a 4000-word review article on the determinants of migrant’s remittances.
