You might want to consider the works of Bakker, Schaufeli, and colleagues on work engagement published in Work & Stress 2008, in Current Directions in Psychological Science 2011, or in the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology 2011. Additionally, in the first issue of Industrial and Organizational Psychology 2008 you will find a number of articles on employee engagement, for example a model by Macey and Schneider.
