I've noted that Applikon bioreactors seem to be mid-range in terms of price, but am curious if anyone could offer feedback on durability, ease of use, ease of repair, service from the company, accuracy of the sensors, etc.).
I use Sartorius but they tend to be expensive and their control software is rather limited. You can buy fermenters from GPC, La Rochelle, France. Their software is great but their bioreactor vessels are not as good as those of Sartorius.
It's worth a trip down to see them before buying especially to look at the seal between the fermenter top plate and the glass vessel. Also, theyonly put in 3 baffles and make sure you specify exactly the type of impeler that you want.
