My hypothesis is that some metabolites may be effective against the virus and accumulate inside the lung cells to reach the effective concentration. Is there any study that confirms or deny this hypothesis?

The story of the COVID-19 pandemic would seem like a case of obfuscation, namely obscuring the intended meaning of communication by making the message difficult to understand, usually with confusing and ambiguous language. A range of news sources suggests that an international group of scientists from at least the US, France, China and Australia have been undertaking what is called "gain of function research" over a period of time from 2016-19. This is generally taken to mean researching changes to corona viruses in terms of transmissibility, infectivity and pathogenicity.
Arguments over the source of the origin have focused on release of the so-called SARS-CoV-2 virus in China. But there are other claims that there are limited statistics to validate significant deaths due to that cause. The claims regarding the latter predominantly arise in Canada.
A recent article entitled "ROGUE ANTIBODIES LINKED TO DEATHS FROM SEVERE COVID" in Nature, Sept. 9, 2021 says "Casanova and his colleagues suspected that these devious antibodies were a cause, rather than a consequence, of severe COVID-19. There were hints that this might be the case — the group had previously found that "auto-antibodies" were present in around 4 in 1,000 healthy people whose samples had been collected before the pandemic. The team also found that individuals with genetic mutations that disrupt the activity of type 1 interferon, and that this proportion increased with age: auto-antibodies were present in around 1.1% of 70- to 79-year-olds, and 3.4% of those over the age of 80".
At the same time, there is a medical journal paper for 2019, "Sage open medicine", which reads "Sepsis is a severe illness in which bacteria invade the normally sterile bloodstream. The infection activates the body’s immune system and sometimes the inflammatory response is so powerful that it causes more harm than good. Sepsis affects millions of people each year and even with the best treatment, severe sepsis is often fatal. In fact, sepsis is the tenth-most-common cause of death in the United States and is the second leading cause of death in the medical intensive care unit (ICU)"... "The initial pro-inflammatory state of sepsis is often superseded by a prolonged state of immuno-suppression. There is a decrease in the number of T cells (helper and cytotoxic) as a result of apoptosis and a decreased response to inflammatory cytokines. Postmortem studies of ICU patients who died of sepsis demonstrated a global depletion of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, most notably found in the lymphoid organs such as the spleen."
Could this explain differences of opinion over attribution of deaths due to SARS-CoV-2 or sepsis?
