I tried to dope carbon films during annealing but it did not work. For example keeping samples covered with boron powders could not dope carbon with boron! I am not sure with your Zn layer. But I guess doping won't happen.

Its difficult special at low temperature ( lower than the melting point of you thin film ) -- in this case a new layer will deposition on you film

try at very high temperature ??
