I am converting a conventional four stroke engine into six stroke engine. Two dummy stroke will be adjusted after implementing new camshaft and new spark timings. I have decided to inject water at high pressure around 200-500 bar in 5th stroke. I think, it will give us a little expansion, reduce temperature and sweep out the residual gases.

Can I use any other liquid in second injection in the 5th stroke instead of water to get more power, lower temperature and sweeping out emissions?

Will water make the system corrosive?
