Is two years of data enough for creating SWAT hydrological model?

I am going to create SWAT model for modelling surface water. My study area is small river basin situated in Sri Lanka. Can I do modelling with two years of data. Nearly 15 stations cover the river basin. can I use one year as calibration period and one year as validation period? Is stream flow data collected from gauge stations also necessary as inputs for SWAT model?
