I have submitted a paper about shaded PV arrays and received the following message from the editor:

"Dear Mr. Al-Motasem Aldaoudeyeh,

I have received and completed a preliminary review of this paper.

I regret to inform you that the scope of this paper is too specific to the electronics subject and thus does not fit the more generalized submission requirements of Renewable Energy. Such topics need to be presented in a broader, multi-disciplinary scope to be considered by Renewable Energy.

I believe your paper will be better received in a journal with an audience more oriented to the subject of this paper.

If you have more suitable papers, I invite you to submit them for consideration.

Please visit the Renewable Energy website for more information concerning the scope of the journal and Author Guidelines for submission: http://ees.elsevier.com/rene.

Thank you very much for expressing your interest in Renewable Energy.

Sincerely,"

The preliminary review process took around 12 days, so I wonder if this could be an indirect rejection or my paper is really too specific.
