Single identity leadership development and race or gender-based leadership programmes? Is there a need for these or have corporations moved beyond such challenges?
In many countries, women (and some other - e.g. ethnic - groups) are under-represented in management although several women/representatives of these groups, in principle, would be fully capable to become managers (they have the necessary education, skills etc). If, through these programs, such people can become more involved in management, this can be beneficial for a firm, too (e.g. they may have some useful contacts that current managers do not have, or some very original ideas...).
Hi Tiia, thank you. I am pursuing research on single identity leadership programme with particular focus on women's development. There are opposing opinions on this, who view such programmes as taking corporate development back by focusing on gender, rather than just traditional leadership programmes. I would be interested to engage with you and other women on this subject.
Have you visited this page? This company specializes in such programs (I have never had any contact with it; and this is not my research topic, either, I jut found it from Google): https://www.women-unlimited.com/programs/program_overview.php
