Water cooling curtains are used in the hydrocarbon depots to act as thermal barriers between fuel storage tanks and facility on fire. Depending on the thermal flux from the fire, the distance of the cooling curtain from the fire, the water droplet size, the operating pressure, the flow rate, the effectiveness of the cooling curtain can be greatly influenced.

I dont know how much it will help you, but I design the similar things in building to separate hazards. I always use NFPA 13 guidelines for determining the operating features like flow, pressure, distance etc.

Thank you for your response. I have been applying NFPA 13. I thought that there would be other standards to use, that I don't know of.
Whilst on the topic of curtains. Are you aware of applications of foam in creating a curtain to separate hazards? Typically we would use water curtains.

Foam can only be used to create blanket over fire pool but certainly not for making curtains.
the current technology with active system mostly uses spinklers to create water curtaing while in this you can play a little bit by using water deluge or perhaps water mist (but check with watermist as i know its listed only upto certain amout on flammable pool fires).
i feel water deluge are ideal for your case.
