I wish can find a handbook or fruitful information that help researchers apply their algorithms and efforts on Hadoop (Mapreduce) to improve performance and power efficiency.
- Is there a reliable simulator that predict accurate result?
- If not how researchers deploy their own efforts to Haddop files ?
My aim is to develop a mapping strategies between nodes that effect Hadoop system and wondering if there's any technical guides and tutorials to start with.

I do not know of any hadoop simulator, but in all honesty hadoop is not particularly complicated to install and test.

Which details how to deploy a very easy to understand Python program within a Hadoop framework.
The advantage of this technique is that you can modify it to use any piece of code uses SDTIN / STDOUT (i.e. anything that prints to the terminal).
Note the prerequisite section, early on, which details how to install Hadoop very clearly.
