The concrete written work was on immigration, but cultural differences and similarities between the European countries and compared to the rest of the world is one one my most significant research interests in general. We could exchange experience and ideas if this is also your interest.
Although it's not my specific focus it's part of a much larger interest. Your work could be very useful in my research. I'll begin following you and I'll keep you posted...
I once made a comparison of mediterranean and "nordic" countries in Europe using monchronic/polychronic, contextual strength and Hofstede parameters, but published in Hungarian only. (In the "mediterranean" group I tried to incude arabic and Latin-Americal conutries as well). In another study I tried to use the World value index to decipher the differences between these two groups of nations related to military organizations. This latter was also published in Hungarian. Sorry.
Ortega y Gasset wrote on what makes Europeans similar: "Meditatio Europae quaedam" and the second part of "The Revolt of the Masses." I know that "Revolt" has been translated into German. I do not know whether "A Certain Meditation on Europe" has been. Basically the similarities include historical ones from Graeco-Roman antiquity to the present.
