Being an essential parameter, basal velocity estimation of a valley glacier is still not significantly discussed which helps in assessing the glacier water storage capacity over a period and essential for many glacio-hydrological problems.

Usually, Weertman based scaling law are explored to know the glacier basal velocity. However, now with the abundance of surface topography, surface velocity and glacier outline many studies have parametrized with a factor and estimate the basal velocity (for example, Peiczonka et al., 2018; Zorzut et al, 2020; Milan et al., 2022).
