I am searching for research on the variation of German adnominal possessive constructions (s-construction: Peter-s Jacke 'peter's jacket' vs. of/von-construction die jacke von Peter 'the jacket of peter'). Research on this type of variation exists for English; e.g. Rosenbach 2008. I am wondering if anyone knows if this has been investigated (empirically, e.g. using corpus data) with regards to the factors determining construction choice for German? I am grateful for any type of comment!
